Geotechnical Engineer
Senior
There is only so far you can go as the solo Geotechnical Engineer onsite, or in a small team of Rock Mechanics. This large (and expanding) team can give you:
- Support from 9 other Geotechnical Engineers, predominantly coal experts
- Well respected Manager, reknown for investing in his team and helping individuals achieve career goals (tranfers to other sites, internal promotions etc)
- Access to some of the largest operations in the Bowen Basin - Brownfield and Greenfield projects
- Combination of technical support and projects, ultimately making final calls on all things Geotechnical onsite
The dual nature of this role means your technical skills will only get you half way; you will need strong interpersonal skills to persuade and influence (with diplomacy), when you interact with Senior Management.
At least 6yr+ post-grad with experience in open pit mining, soil mechanics, hydrogeology etc. Coal preferred, but solid metals/civil candidates encouraged to apply.
